Up and coming original rockers, INJADE, have been gaining attention lately since they gave a 3 song sneak preview of their soon to be released Cd, "Shortcut to the Playground," to some local DJ's. Their song, "Livin' a Dream," has been getting ariplay, and not only are the DJ's talking about the band on the radio, but their live performances of their original music at the clubs has never been more well received.
Injade began as a duo with David Tortolano on electric acoustic guitar and vocals, and Adrienne Zolondick on acoustic guitar keyboards and vocals. At the time, they had already been collaborating musically for close to seven years, and neither one of them really knew how magically their unique styles would mesh as pop rock songwriters, but their fusion came to a head when Adrienne joined David's longtime band," Root," and they began performing their music with a four piece band, rocking places like Sloppy Joes, Virgillios and the Looe Key Tiki Bar, and focusing on their original music.
The highlights of the band are the 3 and 4 part vocal harmonies, as well as being refreshed by seeing and hearing a different person sing lead throughout the night. Backing them up you have a rock solid rhythm section with highly seasoned players. David Tortolano has played with Keith Godshaux of the Grateful Dead, and his band Root opened for the Georgia Satelites and the Beaver Brown Band. Adrienne has produced 3 CD's of her solo original music, was nominated for a Boston Music Award, and had a feature article in Boston Women Magazine. Bassist, saxophonist, and singer Rick Cleaver has countless years of seasoned professional performance and studio experiences with various rock bands from the Florida Keys. Drummer and songwriter Hal Howland, has performed and composed classical, avant-garde, jazz rock, and folk music in America, Europe, and the Middle East, and currently perfoms both jazz and rock and roll while teaching music in the Florida Keys.
Adrienne and David initially met in Key West in 1994, and first performed together in the duo Aye in the early '90's. They have been writing music and recording together ever since. They are currently working on their original pop rock debut CD "Shortcut to the Playground" due out by the end of the year. |
